Privacy Policy
Effective September 9, 2026PanelBill ("PanelBill," "we," "us") is operated by PanelBill, LLC. This page is a website in active development, ahead of the launch of the PanelBill product. This policy explains what we collect on it, why, and what your options are. It applies to panelbill.com only — when the PanelBill product itself launches, it will have its own privacy policy covering account and billing data, which will be more detailed than this one.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in two ways: what you give us directly, and what's generated automatically by visiting the site.
- Email address — collected only when you submit the beta signup form.
- Role — an optional category you select ("hosting company owner," "sysadmin/engineer," "support/billing staff," or "just curious"), so we can understand who's interested. It is not required.
- IP address — captured when you submit the signup form, used solely to rate-limit abuse of the form and to verify you're not a bot (see Turnstile, below). Also present in ordinary web server access logs for every visitor, not just those who sign up, and retained only briefly for security and operational troubleshooting.
- Standard technical data — browser type, referring page, and timestamps, collected the same way any web server logs traffic. We don't attach this to your identity beyond what's in server logs.
We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising, we do not run any analytics script (Google Analytics or similar), and we do not embed any third-party ad or retargeting pixel on this site.
2. How we use it
- To email you when a beta seat becomes available or with meaningful updates about PanelBill's release.
- To prevent abuse of the signup form (rate limiting, bot detection).
- To understand aggregate interest by role, so we can prioritize what we build first. We look at this in aggregate — we're not profiling individual signups.
We do not use your email for anything beyond PanelBill-related communication, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
3. Who we share it with
We keep the list of parties who touch your data short, on purpose:
- Cloudflare — provides the network security, DNS, and Turnstile bot-verification for this site. When you submit the signup form, your browser completes a Turnstile challenge and your IP address is processed by Cloudflare to confirm you're not a bot. Cloudflare's handling of this data is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
- Our infrastructure provider — the server that stores the waitlist database. No other company has access to it.
We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party, and we have never received a request from a government authority for this data — if we ever do, we'll disclose only what we're legally compelled to and will attempt to notify affected users unless prohibited by law.
4. How long we keep it
If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address until PanelBill launches and you either become a customer or ask to be removed — whichever comes first. Raw web server logs are retained briefly (typically weeks, not months) for security purposes, then rotated out.
5. Your rights
Wherever you're located, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct it, if it's wrong.
- Delete it — we'll remove your email from the waitlist and confirm once it's done.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or a U.S. state with its own privacy law (such as California), you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws — including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We'll honor requests under those frameworks the same way we'd honor any other deletion or access request: promptly, and without requiring you to cite a specific statute.
To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form. We don't run a public email inbox — the form is the intended way to reach us, and it works whether or not you leave a way for us to reply.
6. Children's privacy
PanelBill is a B2B product for hosting companies. This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
7. Security
This site is served entirely over HTTPS with modern TLS. The waitlist database sits outside the public web directory and isn't reachable over the web under any URL. Access to the underlying server is restricted to key-based authentication — least privilege, the same principle PanelBill the product is built around.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. We won't make material changes that expand how we use previously collected data without giving existing subscribers a way to opt out first.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request regarding your data: use our contact form.
